Happy Heart Snowman

Hello, Friends!
This is the card I made on Saturday but couldn't finish because it wasn't dry yet.  The heart the snowman is holding is covered with silver stickles glitter glue.  I could have used silver glitter paper, but I didn't think of that at the time.  Duh!  I learned how to fill an image with glitter glue, though so that's good, I suppose.  Glitter glue comes in tons of colors and glitter paper does not, so if you have a small space that needs some shine, glitter glue could be an option.  To color my heart, I filled it with one thin layer of glitter glue.  Once it dried, it didn't look that great.  I could see the empty spots I had missed, so I filled those in with more glue.  After the second layer dried, I could see a few more spaces that needed glitter, so I filled them in.  The third time did the trick and the entire heart was filled and looked good.  I'm not a huge glitter person by any stretch of the imagination, but it was fun to use for a change.  The glitter doesn't seem to come off of the heart like it does with glitter paper sometimes, so that's another bonus of using the glitter glue.  Maybe that's why I used glitter glue instead of glitter paper.  I was so smart and I didn't even know it.  Ha!
My acrylic dots also started out as white.  I was able to color them with my alcohol markers and make them match whatever color I wanted.  It took a few coats on them, as well, and they were also still wet last night.  By morning, both the dots and the glitter glue were dry and the card was ready to be put together.

Two different challenge blogs gave me the idea for this card.  The sketch came from Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  Mary Jo has been doing sketch challenges for years.  I don't know how she comes up with all of them, but they are always creative and fun to use!

Pals Paper Arts had a color challenge this week which provided the color palette for my card.  I wasn't sure if I could make it work, but I think in the end, it did.  They've also had color and sketch challenges that are great for a long time.
I also found a couple of new challenges I have never entered before.  The first is Shopping Our Stash Weekly Challenge.  This week's challenge is called "Thrice as Nice."  The challenge is to use three or more patterned papers from your stash on your card.  This challenge blog goes along great with my New Year's Resolution to use my supplies instead of just adding to them!
Finally, the last challenge I will be entering this card in is the Friday Mashup Challenge.  My project has a winter theme.  It doesn't have snowflakes, so it's not a mashup, but since the challenge isn't over for a few more days, I may have another card.  This is the perfect time for winter cards with snowflakes!
I hope this card was worth the wait.  It's cold here in Illinois, so if you're in a state that has winter weather, stay warm!

Your card is "snow" cute, Angela! It was worth the effort to glitter the heart, it sparkles and shines so pretty in the arms of that sweet snowman! Thanks for joining us at the Pals Paper Arts this week!

Wow, you have a lot of patience! I am so impatient and could never have waited for both things to dry, lol. They look fabulous though so it was worth the wait! Thanks so much for playing along with my sketch challenge this week!

I love this card, layout and colors! I am also so very happy to see all the cards you have been able to make...that means your back pain is at least bearable. I continue to pray about your treatment and that you will get relief.

P.S. I cleaned my stamp room and have also resolved to use my stash instead of accumulating more!!
