SSSC249 Come to Bethlehem

Hello, Friends!

With all the fun Christmas stamps I have here, I realized most of my religious stamps are in storage.  Because the birth of Jesus is what Christmas is really about, I had to make at least one card that expressed that belief.  Thankfully, I found the stamp set here, "Come to Bethlehem" by Stampin' Up.

It was a simple card to make, which is what I wanted, because the message was the most important part.  I stamped the main image in Versamark ink on navy card stock and then embossed it with silver embossing powder.  Since it looked a little too plain directly on the medium blue card stock, I added a layer of silver brushed card stock behind it.  I stamped the sentiment from Unity Stamp Company in Versamark ink and embossed it as well.

I kind of hate to share this card with you because it's so much prettier in person and I couldn't get a good picture of it.  It was hard to get the light to hit the embossing just right so you could read the words.  It doesn't look quite as plain in person as it does in the picture, either.  Hopefully you can get the general idea of it and imagine the silver embossing in your mind a little bit better than the picture shows it!

It was based on this sketch by Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

I am also entering it in the Clean and Simple on Sunday Christmas Challenge #49.

Happy Stamping and Merry Christmas!
