Welcome to "Walking in a Wiener Wonderland" again. I have created a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square card to portray my wiener wonderland. Paper Smooches provided all of the stamps I needed for my winter wiener wonderland. "Santa Paws" and the matching die cuts provided my wiener dogs. "Chilly Chums" provided the bow for my little girl's hair which I fussy cut. "Swanky Snowdudes" provided the large snowflakes I punched out with a circle punch. Otherwise, the background was just a little too plain, even though it is bright and busy and made by my favorite paper company, Doodlebug. I love Doodlebug for their bright colors and fun prints. Adding the three big snowflakes accentuated the fact that it was snowing on my wiener dogs without making it overwhelming. The alphabet "Alphadot" was the perfect size to go along with my wiener dogs. It wasn't so small that it was hard to read, but it wasn't so large that it took away from those cute little weenies! I switched ink colors in the sentiment to make "wiener" stand out.
Now we have boyfriend and girlfriend wiener dogs out on a snowy stroll- taking a walk, together, in a wiener wonderland!
I know "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" is a Christmas song so this could be a Christmas card but I've always thought of it as an "all winter long song." That's probably because my Great Grandma used to play it on the piano for me because I loved it so much! She probably played it all year long for me too, if I could remember back then. I will say that if you were at my house in Illinois tonight, you'd know we were walking in a winter wonderland! It's been snowing and occasionally blowing all day. I think it's beautiful. I don't have to go out in it so that probably makes it more attractive to me. My point is, I don't think my card is late for Christmas but right on time for winter in January. I hope you agree! :)
Paper Smooches, the company that provided all of the stamps for my card is having an "Anything Goes" challenge this week that I am entering my card in tonight. I love Paper Smooches stamps, in case you didn't notice. They have stamps for all different occasions, fabulous sentiments in great fonts, and dies that go along with their stamps as well as stand alone. If you have never checked them out, run, don't walk, to see their goodies!
Yesterday, I entered my snowman card in the Friday Mashup Challenge because it had a winter theme. Today, my card has a winter theme and snowflakes, the second part of the challenge. This makes it an official mashup! So I can enter my dachshunds in this challenge as well.
This will be my last entry in the Simon Says Stamp "Anything Goes" Wednesday Challenge. There will be a new challenge this Wednesday and I can't wait to see what it is!
Since "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" is a Christmas song, lastly, I will be entering my card in the ABC Christmas Challenge 'A' is for Anything Christmas. This is a great blog to keep you from facing the Christmas Card rush in December by offering a Christmas challenge every two weeks for each letter of the alphabet.
So, give me your opinion in the comments section of my blog. Is "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" a song only for Christmas or can it be sung as long as there is snow in the air? I'm really curious to find out what you think.
If you can, stay out of that wonderful winter land and keep warm crafting!
