SSC207 and SPCC104 Pun Fun

I'm continuing to make cards with my favorite Stampin' Up stamp sets that are retiring June 30th. I knew I had to make one more card with "Pun Fun," more specifically with the hedgehog.

I had a pet albino hedgehog named Dan D. Lion because he looked like a dandelion that had gone to seed when he curled up in a ball. You might not think a hedgehog could be a loving pet, but Dan definitely was one. He was especially fond of my Dad and my Dad was especially fond of him! Hedgehogs are very protective of their tummys because that is their most vulnerable point. It took years of learning to trust my Dad, but Dan finally would let him rub his tummy. We all miss Dan a lot. He was a good little friend.

To make this card, I used the sketch challenge this week on www.stamping411.blogspot.com. The color challenge came from www.thescrapmaster.com. Inside, I stamped "Happy Birthday Wishes" from "Fun and Fast Notes." It just wasn't the original sentiment with the hedgehog stamp.

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Pun Fun and Fun and Fast Notes Stamp set
Black Stazon Ink
Tempting Turquoise, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers
Whisper White, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and Early Espresso Card Stock
Circle and 2" x 1 3/8" Oval Extra Large Punches
5/8" Early Espresso Satin Ribbon (also retiring)
Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folders

SFF Pun Fun

Well, if you're reading this, I survived VBS 2011!
It was actually a great year and I really enjoyed my time with the 5th and 6th graders. Even when they threw flour bombs at me and covered me with pudding. (Both games planned ahead! There wasn't a riot!)

Now, it's time for things to "go back to normal" which Frank will be happy about since he won't be home alone in the evenings.

This brings us to Sketch Frenzy Friday. Isn't this a fun sketch? I chose the stamp set, "Pun Fun," to feature. This set will only be available through June 30th. I love it so I wanted to be sure to show it on my blog one more time.
Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Pun Fun Stamp Set
Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Basic Gray, and Basic Black Classic Inks
Whisper White, Poppy Parade, and Peach Parfait Card Stock

Now check out Deb Currier's blog, www.artfeltimpressions.blogspot.com to see what she made with this sketch. Then, make your own card and show us at www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com.

TSSC162 Pun Fun

This was a super simple card to make for a special girl at our church. I had been writing recommendation letters for her for college and scholarships. I had joked with her that if she didn't get one of them, I was going to have to come up with the money to to send her to college! Luckily for us both, she got into the school she wanted with a large scholarship!
I know she's a "grown-up," but I thought this was a fun card for her. I made it using Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge pattern. I hope you enjoy it!

Happy Stamping!

TSSC157 & SRC54 Pun Fun Share

Happy Monday! That means it's time for another one of Mary Jo's great Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenges. You can check them out here. I got my inspiration for the colors of my card from Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #54. You can check out their blog here.

This was my first version of the card. It matches the sketch but I still thought mine looked a little plain.

So, here's my second version. I added ribbon along the green cardstock, although it's hard to see because the circles are close together. However, the big bow on the top is quite obvious! :) It just made the card a little more fancy.

The original sentiment with the mug says, "Love you a latte!" However, what I really needed was a "thank you" card. So, I used "thanks" from one set and added it to "a latte!" Look for ways to see and use your "old" stamps in a new way!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Pun Fun and Three Little Words Stamp Sets
Old Olive, Marina Mist, and Concord Crush Classic Inks
Old Olive, Marina Mist, Concord Crush, and Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Markers
Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, and Concord Crush Card Stock
Blender Pens
Circle Punches
1/4" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon
Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

CPS187 Pun Fun Whale

I was making a list of challenges on my computer because I really enjoy doing them and it would be a quick reference tool. While I was going through them, I found this sketch challenge on "Card Positioning Systems" blog. I loved the circles and that this card would be something totally different than anything I had ever made before.
I also found another challenge to make a monochromatic card. This means that there are various shades of the same color.

In a matter of minutes, "Get Whale Soon" was born!
It's cute and simple. It's appropriate for anyone of any age.
It features lots of circles that I made with my new Circle Scissor Plus. It's awesome and available to purchase through me from Stampin' Up. If you don't already have one, put it on your list!
I used the following Stampin' Up supplies to make this card:
Pun Fun Stamp Set
Night of Navy Classic Ink
Bashful Blue and Marina Mist Stampin' Write Markers
Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Maring Mist, and Night of Navy Card Stock
Circle Punches and 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Extra Large Punch
Circle Scissor Plus
Glass Mat

SSSC84 Pun Fun with a Hippo!

There are some great challenges out there this week if you have some time for stamping!
I made this card based on the "Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 84." I just found this blog recently and thought this would be a fun design to follow.
You can see more cards based on this sketch by clicking here.

I will be using this card for a wonderfully sweet woman who used to work with my Dad.
She is retiring and deserves some fun celebrations! I like it though, because it could be used for lots of other celebrations and noteworth events.

Here's a Stamping Tip: If you want a scalloped border of any size, use your circle punches and glue them where one half is showing on your card stock. Then, ta da! Scalloped Border!
Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:
Pun Fun Stamp Set
Basic Black Classic Ink
Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, and Marina Mist Stampin' Write Markers
Very Vanilla, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Early Espresso Card Stock

SFF Pun Fun

Sketch Frenzy Friday is here again!

This was actually the sketch I designed.
It was harder than I thought it would be considering I'm the one who designed it!
It's very hard to get the diagonal lines to match up,
so I added the strip of paper down the center.
love this stamp set and all the
new colors that are used in it!
Hope you enjoy it too!

The following Stampin Up Products were used to make this card:

Pun Fun Stamp Set
Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Marina Mist, and Cherry Cobbler Classic Inks
Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Marina Mist, and Cherry Cobbler Card Stock
Blender Pens
Pop Glue Dots

Now be sure to check out the next Sketch Frenzy Friday post by Brenda Taylor.
