Forest Festivities with a Puppy

Hello, Friends!

I bet you can figure out why I love this stamp!  See the sweet little puppy peeking out of the present on the right corner?  That's the reason! It looks like a wiener dog!

This stamp set, Forest Festivities, was in the Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog in 2011.  Long retired, it doesn't change the fact that I love the cute dog popping out of the box.  I don't know what else is in those other gifts, but the contents can't be better than a dog- a best friend for life.

It reminds me of a quote I heard a while ago.

If you want to hear the pitter patter of little feet,
get a dog.
Dogs cost less and you get more feet!

The check I wrote for Frankfurter was the best money I've ever spent.  It's hard to believe I've had him over 13 years.  We've been in Illinois, Colorado, Arizona and back to Illinois together.  We've lived in an apartment, a duplex, a large house, and now my parents house together.  I've had 4 surgeries- 2 knee, removal of my thyroid, and removal of my gallbladder, with one more to come.  Frank has had 3 surgeries, 2 on his back and 1 on his leg.  The vet calls him "Miracle dog" for how he has recovered.  She is right.  Not because of his recovery from surgery, but because of the joy he has brought to me, my family and everyone else who meets him.

See why I love a stamp that reminds me of Frank?  No matter what happens, life is always better because of that wiener dog.  :)

See you with another Christmas card soon!

Merry Christmas and Happy Stamping!

TSSC202 and LNS Gift Card Challenge Forest Festivities

Hello, Friends!

This week the Late Night Stampers Challenge is to make a gift card holder.  So, I decided to make my gift card a part of the front of my actual card so I would have plenty of room to write inside.  I used Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge for my basic design.  I flipped the elements on the card so my fox wasn't staring off into space though!  It's a very simple card, but I think it's a cute one.

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Forest Festivities Stamp Set and Wonderfully Worn Background Stamp
Real Red, Cajun Craze, and Lucky Limeade Classic Inks
Basic Black Stazon Ink
Real Red, Cajun Craze, Lucky Limeade, and Basic Gray Stampin' Write Markers
Whisper White, Real Red, and Lucky Limeade Card Stock
Modern Label and Scallop Edge Border Punches
Punch Windows Magnetic Movers and Shapers
Big Shot
3/8" Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon
1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon

SFF Forest Festivities

Hello, Friends!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Frank and I had a great day.  For those of you that wondered, he didn't mind the turkey suit at all.  He was tired of me taking his picture!  He's so smart that he knows when you're getting ready to take it and will look away.  I can't tell you how many blury pictures I have from him turning his head at the last second!  Sometimes he's too smart!  To him, the turkey suit was just a fluffy shirt which he liked.  He does draw the line at hats, though, which is why there's only one with the whole turkey suit on as it was intended.  I figure Frank has a really good life, so a couple times a year, he can let me dress him up to bring lots of smiles to his friends-especially when it's Franksgiving!

Now back to stamping!

I used the Sketch Frenzy Friday oval design to start my card.  I had to turn my oval to fit the "Merry Christmas" sentiment on it.  I think it's a sweet little card and I'm happy with the way it turned out.  On Monday, I will have another card featuring this stamp set.

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Moonlight Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink

SQSC3 Forest Festivities

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to the Stampin' Queens third sketch challenge.  You can see the other cards that the amazing stampers created with this same sketch by going to the Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge Blog

My card features the new stamp set, "Forest Festivities" which is in the new Holiday Mini Catalog.  I thought the set was cute when I first saw it.  However, when I saw the best present ever peeking out from one of the boxes, I knew I had to have it.  Especially since it could pass for a wiener dog.

I used my blender pens to color the Christmas packages.  Of course, I colored the little dog to match Frankfurter, complete with his brown nose instead of a black one!

I can kind of envision Stampin' Up executives sitting around a table going "Put a cute dog on that stamp.  Angela will definitely buy it now."  Although I don't have that much power for the SU execs to be talking about my preferences, if they did say that, they would be right!  :)

Happy Stamping!
