SFF, PPA130, and LNS Go Green Challenge Just Believe

Hello, Friends!
Long time, no blog.

February was an incredibly busy month.  We had a Family Worship Night (think dinner, lesson, games, craft, take home bag extravaganza), Winter Camp where we took 53 4th-6th graders and 10 leaders to camp for the weekend, a conference, and a house guest (wonderful!) all within 2 weeks.  It was crazy.  Throw in some blogger issues and I was down for the count.  Thankfully, March is much less busy and there is some serious stamping time in my future.
Because I was a little behind, I rolled three challenges into this card.  First, it's Friday so it's Sketch Frenzy Friday time for the design of the card.  Then, Pals Paper Arts and Late Night Stampers are both Going Green this week.  So my card fits both of their challenges.

If you've been checking my blog the past couple of weeks, thanks for hanging in there.  Life with a Wiener Dog has calmed down and there are some fun cards headed your way.

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Just Believe and Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Sets
Lucky Limeade and Elegant Eggplant Classic Inks
Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Always Artichoke, and Elegant Eggplant Card Stock
White Vellum Card Stock
2011-2013 In Color Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack
3/8" Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon
2011-2013 In Color Dotted Printed Brads

Now please check out Deb Currier's blog at http://www.artfeltimpressions.blogspot.com/ to see the card she made with this sketch.  Then make your own and share it with us at http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/

TSSC165 & LNS Challenge Easter/Spring (New and Improved!)

Like I thought, I couldn't just leave my card in a way that I didn't like. So, tonight I came back to it. All of the parts are the same, just trimmed or rearranged. I'm happy with the new outcome.

I hope my Creator is happy with the outcome, too.
-Angela

TSSC165 & LNS Challenge Easter/Spring

Stampers, have you ever made a card that just didn't seem right? You played with the elements but you just couldn't get it the way you wanted it? That is this card.

One time my friend Rich, a musician, was asked if he liked all of the songs he had written. His answer was, "Yes. Why would I write a song I didn't like?"

Now I know. Because you have played and played and you still don't like it. It's better than it was but still something is not quite right. Maybe the pink section is too tall. Maybe there are too many flowers. Maybe there are not enough flowers. I don't know.

I resisted the urge to recycle this card. Maybe you will like it. It's not the sketch from Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge. The sketch is good. It's not the theme. LateNightStampers Challenge this week is for Spring and Easter projects. That's a great theme. It's just this card.

So, I'm putting it on my blog and going to bed. We all have cards we love and others that still need help. Although I'm giving up for tonight, I have a feeling I'll be coming back to this card to do it justice. It's got potential it's just not there yet.

Sort of like me. I'm not perfect yet either. But I have someone who is still working with me too. His idea for me is already perfect. Sometimes it hurts when my layers are torn apart. Sometimes I wince when I know a little more is going to be trimmed off and shaped. Sometimes it hurts when I get rearranged again. But each time, I get a little bit closer to my Master's vision. His perfect vision.

I'm starting to like this card more and more. We have a lot in common. Don't give up on us. We'll get there. :)

I used the following Stampin' Up supplies to make this card in progress:

Printed Petals, Just Believe, and Sanded Stamp Sets
Blushing Bride and Perfect Plum Classic Inks
Whisper White, Sahara Sand, and Perfect Plum Card Stock
In Color Designer Series Paper Pack
Word Window, Modern Label, and Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punches

SFF Just Believe

It's that time again! Time for another Sketch Frenzy Friday card.
You'll notice that my scallop border goes the opposite way of the sketch, but that's the best thing about sketches. You can follow them perfectly, or switch them to fit your needs or style. I switched my scallops so they didn't cover up my flowers.
Speaking of flowers, after creating my card background, I wanted to make it stand out a little bit. So, I stamped more flowers and cut them out. Then I put them on with Stampin' Dimensionals. This gives them a little bit of height and makes the card a little more interesting.
I hope you like it!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make my card:

Just Believe Stamp Set
Bashful Blue, More Mustard, and Chocolate Chip Classic Ink
More Mustard and Garden Green Stampin' Write Markers
Naturals Ivory, More Mustard, and Garden Green Card Stock
Circle Punches
Paper Snips
Stampin' Dimensionals

Now, follow our blog hop by going to Deb Currier's blog. Then, create your own card based on this sketch and upload it to http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/.

Just Believe PPA61 and Color Lab Color Challenge 11

I really liked the sketch on Pals Paper Arts blog this week.
It was very simple and I liked the clean lines of it.
I also really liked the color challenge on The Color Lab blog.
It featured Peach Parfait, Garden Green, Sahara Sand, and Early Espresso.
So, this is my card which is a combination of the two.
To give it a little something special, I put Crystal Effects on the flower circle. It made Peach Parfait much brighter than it was before. It's my own special embellishment!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin Up products on this card:

Just Believe Stamp Set
Peach Parfait Classic Ink
Peach Parfait and Garden Green Stampin Write Markers

Sketch Frenzy Friday's Sunny Garden

I've been using a lot of Designer Series Paper lately. Usually, I would buy it and save it for just the right occasion. As a result, I have a lot of paper that's never been touched.
Well, I came to my senses and decided that was silly! Ever since, I've been cutting away and using that wonderful patterned paper!
I thought "Sunny Garden" Designer Series Paper was perfect for this sketch. I hope you enjoy it! Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up supplies for this card:

Just Believe and Cottage Garden Clear Mount Stamp Sets
Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait Stampin' Write Markers
Whisper White, Poppy Parade, and Peach Parfait Card Stock
Sunny Garden Designer Series Paper
1/2" Poppy Parade Stitched-Poly Ribbon
Stampin Dimensionals

Check out Brenda Taylor's card, also based on this sketch, here. Then, create your own card based on this sketch and upload it to the Sketch Frenzy Friday website.

SSC167 Just Believe in Poppy Parade

I love good sketch challenges. Especially ones that force me out of my usual stamping routine. It took me a while to decide if I liked this card or not.
I knew that I did, but it's so unusual for me that I had to wait a while to be sure.
It's more elegant than my usual style. I love the poppy flowers and the wasabi grass.
The sketch came from Stamping 411's Saturday Sketch Challenge. You can see more cards made with the same sketch here. Be sure to check them out!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Just Believe Clear Mount Stamp Set
Poppy Parade and Wild Wasabi Stampin' Write Markers
Whisper White, Poppy Parade, and Chocolate Chip Card Stock
Sunny Garden Designer Series Paper
Poppy Parade 1/2" Stitched-Poly Ribbon
Basic Pearls
