Wiener Dog Art

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to post #501!  If you haven't left a comment on post #500, here, you should because I'm giving away a My Favorite Things die and a Unity Stamp Company stamp set!  I don't want to show them because I want the winners to be surprised when they arrive in the mail!  There's another link at the end of this post so you don't have to leave before I tell you about my card and tell you a funny Frankfurter story!

Now for today's card!  When I saw this easel die come out from Paper Smooches, I immediately thought it would be fun to stamp a wiener dog on two different pieces of canvas sitting next to each other to play up the fact that wiener dogs are long dogs.  I was actually afraid that someone else would think of this idea, as well.

Since it's Wiener Dog Week here on Life With a Wiener Dog, I figured now was the perfect time to share my idea.  The streamers stamps and dies, alphabet stamps, the easel die, and the cute little wiener dog stamp all come from Paper Smooches.  The wiener dog comes from a set called,
"Woofers and Tweeters."  Isn't that a great name for a set that comes with dogs and birds?

I'm entering my card in Paper Smooches "Anything Goes" challenge this week.  I'm also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday "Make it Colorful" challenge.

By the way, Frank knows that he is a "woofer."  I've called him "my little woofer" for years.
One night when my Dad was talking about getting a sound bar that came with a woofer, Frank raised his head and looked at my Dad.  Frank doesn't want anything else in this house that might come with a woofer, since HE is the woofer in this house!

Don't cry that Wiener Dog week is over!  I have more wiener dog stamps that I will make cards with to share with you from time to time.  Thanks for helping me celebrate 500 posts, this week, with a special wiener dog celebration!

Don't forget to leave a comment on Wednesday's post to be entered to win free goodies!

Happy Stamping, Friends!

Sassy Birthday Card

Hello, Friends!

I'm still recovering from surgery, so here is another card I made and never posted on my blog.  It was for my uncle's birthday which was in September 2014.  It was actually one of my favorite cards that I had ever made up to that point, because I thought it was so funny.  I combined products from several companies to put it together.  The sentiment came from The Cat's Pajamas.  It was all one stamp but I divided it up into the two parts on the front of the card in the clouds and one part on the inside.  They have a lot of funny sentiments available.  Another funny one in this set says, "You're NOT getting older.  You're getting a LOT older."  The cute dog came from Paper Smooches.  I thought the look on the dog's face was perfect- like he was looking at someone and talking to them.  This set has a great wiener dog stamp in it!  I made the background using Distress Inks.  It was my first time to try and blend them.  They are definitely a product that I want to spend more time playing with and learning how to use.  Maybe while I'm still recovering from surgery, I can watch some YouTube videos on them!  My Favorite Things made the die that cut my sky into a "wonky" shape.  I used a "Word Bubble" Framelit from Stampin' Up to make my clouds.  So many companies have so many great products.  Don't ever be afraid to mix and match them so you can get your project to turn out the way you want it!

So what makes this card so funny?  Why is it one of my favorites?  It was the rest of the stamp that was featured on the inside of the card.  "Know what you are getting for your birthday?"

Ha!  The actual sentiment said, "Older" but I just inked the first three letters so it said, "Old."  Luckily, he thought it was funny, too, and didn't disown me as his niece!

Happy Stamping!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Woofers and Tweeters

Hello, Friends!

3 posts in 3 days!  Can you believe it?!
Even with my back being injured, I've really enjoyed being on my blog again.  So, my goal is to post one card a week.  I had already created this card and it fit a challenge ending Saturday night, so I decided to try and get it posted. I hope you like it!

I have discovered several "new to me" stamp companies while having to lay around because of my back.  One of my very favorites is "Paper Smooches."  You all know how I love wiener dogs, one in particular.  So when I saw the Paper Smooches set, "Woofers and Tweeters," I had to have it.  Paper Smooches makes photopoloymer clear stamps, wood mount stamps, dies that match their stamp sets, stand alone dies, and other goodies.  This is a clear stamp set.  I love that several of the stamp sets have dies that match them so you don't have to fussy cut the images out.  I used the Paper Smooches "Woofers" dies and "Woofers Extras" dies to cut out the dachshund and the bone.  Since I know a lot of my followers are Stampin' Up people, I have linked the stamp set and dies to the Paper Smooches website.
Warning:  There is a ton of great stuff for sale on their site!  They also have ideas for their stamp sets right on the same page in case you're stumped!

I colored my dog and bone with Copic markers which allowed me to shade them.  I gave the little dog some grass to stand in using Stampin' Up Fringe scissors.

Doodlebug Design Inc. paper and a big bow made from The Ribbon Boutique's polka dotted ribbon finished a very bright and happy card.

I highly encourage you to check out Paper Smooches soon.  They offer free shipping on orders over $50 and a free stamp set on orders over $60.  As all stampers know, the only thing better than stamps are FREE STAMPS.
(No, I don't work for them.  They didn't pay for this post.  I just really like their products!)

Happy Stamping!
