CCMC253 Carry On and Elements of Style

Hello, Friends!

For today's card, I used the hostess stamp set, "Carry On."  The phrase "Keep Calm and Carry On" became famous in England during World War II.  It's made a recent comeback though and can be seen on signs, mugs, and even Stampin' Up cards.  Although "Keep Calm and Carry On" is a great phrase, for us stampers, "Keep Calm and Stamp On" is more fun!  "Carry On" and the flowers I stamped on the "First Edition" Specialty Designer Series Paper from the set "Elements of Style" are both retiring this weekend.

For me personally, stamping again has been a lot of fun.  It gives me something else to think about and be creative.  Although the Create with Connie and Mary sketch looks fabulous with bright, happy colors, I wanted to challenge myself and only used Basic Black and Very Vanilla (with a tiny bit of Crumb Cake on the wooden stamp in the center.)  It's not my usual style, but I like it for a change.

So, keep calm, stamper friends, and

Happy Stamping!

SQSC5 Elements of Style

Hello, Friends!

This is a card I created for our Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge.  This card is not my usual style, but I was very happy with the way it turned out.  I love the vanilla, pinks, and browns together.  It's a color combination I will definitely use again.

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up supplies to make this card:

Elements of Style and Sincere Salutations Stamp Sets and Well Worn Background Stamp
Soft Suede and Early Espresso Classic Inks
Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede, and Early Espresso Card Stock
Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper

TSSC130 Another Day, Another Card!

I had kind of lost my mojo when it was time to create another card. I was also wondering why I thought it would be a good idea to commit to a new card every day for a week!
So, I went searching for a sketch to help me out, and this one certainly did!

Even though yesterday's card used Night of Navy, I really wanted to use my Night of Navy Striped Grosgrain Ribbon to make this one. I hope you like it! I love the Night of Navy, Very Vanilla, and Cherry Cobbler color combination.
I've also included a second picture from the side so you can see all the layers and texture this card has.
Check out the Techno Stamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch TSSC130 to see more great cards!

I used the following Stampin Up supplies to make this card:

Always, Elements of Style, and En Francais
Cherry Cobbler and Night of Navy Classic Inks
Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, and Night of Navy Card Stock
Circle Punches
Night of Navy 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
Very Vanilla and Night of Navy 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon

SFF Elements of Style

It's Friday again! Time for a new sketch and a new card. I really like how this one turned out. At first I was nervous I wouldn't be able to think of cards that would fit with the sketches. Actually, it takes "coming up with something out of nowhere" out of card making which can be intimidating. This is so fun! Be sure to check out the other bloggers who are also members of Sketch Frenzy Friday for their beautiful creations.
For this card I used the following Stampin' Up products:

Elements of Style stamp set
Elegant Eggplant and Garden Green Stampin' Write Markers
Whisper White and Elegant Eggplant Cardstock
Large Oval and Scallop Oval Punches
Silver Brads
Elegant Eggplant 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon
