Upsy Daisy

Hello, Friends!

This is a simple card, but I like how it turned out. It's one that would be great for beginner stampers to make.
It could be made with blues and look a little more masculine for a sympathy card or
it could be made with brighter colors for a "cheerier" look.

Happy Stamping!

Merry Christmas!

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord."
Luke 2:8-11

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6

Come and worship.
Come and worship.
Worship Christ, the newborn King.

Merry Christmas!

SFF Up, Up & Away

Hello, Friends!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!  I didn't make a Christmas card for this week's Sketch Frenzy Friday Challenge, though.  I made this simple little card for a friend that just graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in engineering.  Inside, it says, "the sky's the limit."  I added some clouds to the sketch so the balloon wasn't just floating all by itself.

Happy Stamping and Merry Christmas!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Up, Up and Away and Out on a Limb Stamp Sets
Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry, Early Espresso, and Basic Black Classic Inks
Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, and Bashful Blue Card Stock
2011-2013 In Colors Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack
 3/8" Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon

Now, check out Deb Currier's card that she made with this sketch on her blog at http://www.artfeltimpressions.blogspot.com/.  Then, you can make your own card and share it with us at http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/

SQSC18 and LNS Color Challenge Warmest of Wishes

Hello, Friends!

I can honestly send this card, because in Arizona, we truly have the warmest of wishes from most places in the country right now.  So even though the blue and silver color scheme from the Late Night Stampers challenge this week are cool colors, in Arizona they bring the warmest of wishes.  This sketch comes from Stampin' Queens Sketch Challenge.  If you have time, we'd love to have you join us on both challenges!

Happy Stamping and Merry Christmas!

CCMC180 Crosses of Hope

Hello, Friends

My Mom has a friend from college that we have been close to my entire life.  This family has gone through more than any family I have ever seen.  They had a house fire when I was a kid.  They lost a son in a drowning accident.  The father had to have a kidney transplant.  Their grandaughter had to have a kidney transplant.  Their other grandaughter definitely needs one and their son will probably have to have one as well.  They have been delt more than their fair share of pain and suffering.

And yet, when you talk to them, they always say the same thing.  "Oh, but the Lord has been so good to us."
The amazing thing is that inspite of all they have gone through, they mean that more than any other people I know who might say it.

Recently, the father was diagnosed with cancer.  Because of the anti-rejection medicine he has to take for the kidney transplant, it caused the cancer to grow more rapidly.  The doctors have said that he will make it through Christmas, but can't guarantee any more time after this.

Sometimes life is so hard.

I let my leaders at church know right away to start praying for this family and they started immediately.  I made this card to send to them.   Inside, it says, "I'm praying for you."  Then, there are messages from my leaders for them.  I pray that it is encouraging for them to know they are in so many of our prayers and that our prayers bring them comfort and peace.

What do you think the father is doing?  Sitting at home being angry with God?  Nope.  It's my understanding he was working in the parking ministry last weekend at their church.  He has notebooks of people that he prays for on Sunday afternoons.  I imagine he was praying for those people, as well.

They are true examples of lives that are lived for the glory of God, no matter what.

I am humbled by their example and love them very much.

Although it can't be seen in the picture, the cross is put on with Stampin' Dimensionals and stands out from the card.  After all, it is the cross that gives us hope and through which all blessings come.

-Angela

SQSC17 The Sounding Joy

Hello, Friends!

I hope you're all doing well!  With Christmas right around the corner, I chose "The Sounding Joy" stamp set for our Stampin' Queens sketch challenge this week.  I tried stamping "Let Earth Receive Her King" right over the Always Artichoke star, but it was hard to read the words.  So, I stamped it on vellum, cut the words in the shape of a circle and put it on with a brad.  I like the effect and need to remember it for the future!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up supplies to make this card:

The Sounding Joy Stamp Set and Distressed Dots Background Stamp
Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke Classic Inks

LNS Challenge Ornament Punch makes an Ornament!

Hello, Friends!

Happy December 12th!  Today is my birthday!
I asked a little girl at church today how old she thought I was, which is a very dangerous thing to do.  First, she said 30.  I told her that was a great answer.  Then, she said 44.  This was not a great answer.  However, I felt like I aged 14 years between the first and second guess, so maybe she was accurate after all.  :)

Now to crafting!  This week, the challenge on Late Night Stampers is to create an ornament with your paper crafting supplies.  I made this ornament using our ornament punch.  I punched out several ornament shapes in Marina Mist and Night of Navy.  I sprayed them with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz to make them sparkly.  Then I folded them in half and glued them together.  When they were opened they made a 3D ornament.  I glued the last two together and added the 1/8" Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon as the hanger.  I had a hard time getting good pictures, but these two show the ornament pretty well.  It was super easy and very cute.  In my free time, I'd love to make more.  Free time!  That's almost as funny as guessing I'm 30.  :)

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this ornament:

Ornament Punch

LNS Celebrations and SFF Crazy for Cupcakes

Hello, Friends!

It's Friday!  Woo Hoo!  I didn't think this week would be very busy but I was wrong!  Luckily, I had time to stamp the Sketch Frenzy Friday card for this week.  I changed the sketch a little bit so I could use the birthday sentiment from Curly Cute.  I'm not sure that I love it, but it's okay.  Who knows- you may see it again after I've tweaked it.

Until then, it fits the Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch as well as the LNS Challenge for projects that deal with celebrations.  The is the last female birthday card I have to make for my leaders this year.  I have over 70 of them, so sending everyone a card this year is a cause for celebration!

Happy Stamping!

"It's All About Blue" Hop with The Sounding Joy

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to our SU December blog hop, "It's All About Blue!"  It's a short one, but a good one!  You can start the hop at our home page here.  If you're following the hop, you just came from Robin's Craft Room.  I got to meet Robin Messenheimer in person this summer and she was my virtual roommate on VC Rocks.  She's wonderful so be sure you get to see her project.

I used the Christmas set, "The Sounding Joy" for my blue project.  I love that it looks like a present and the best present ever was baby Jesus coming here!  I hope you enjoy it.

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

The Sounding Joy Stamp Set
Marina Mist Classic Ink
Night of Navy Craft Ink
Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, and Sahara Sand Card Stock
Subtles Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack
Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder
Heat Tool
1/4" Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon

SFF Stitched Stockings

Hello, Friends!

It's time for a Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch.  This one is by Kim Innis.  I thought I was following it closely, but when I returned to my computer with my completed card, it wasn't quite as close as I had thought!  Oops!  Well, that's the great thing about sketches.  You can follow them closely or use them as a great jumping off point.

Either way, this turned out to be a simple and sweet, traditional Christmas card.  It's cuter in person because you can see the stocking is put on with Stampin' Dimensionals and sticks out from the card.  The brad and Baker's Twine also add more dimension.  It's not as "flat" as it all looks in the picture.

Happy Holidays and
Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Stitched Stockings and Holiday Happiness Stamp Sets
Cherry Cobbler and Lucky Limeade Classic Inks
Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Lucky Limeade, and Always Artichoke Card Stock

3/8" Cherry Cobbler Quilted Satin Ribbon
