Curtain Call Cuddle Your Worries Away Challenge Card

Hello, Friends!

The card I have for you today was so much fun to make because it was also a part of a really big honor!  When my Dreamcatcher Card won the Lead at the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge blog in September, I was invited to be a guest for another challenge on the Curtain Call blog.  Swoon!  I was super excited.  I was also a little nervous, truth be told!  I silently prayed that I would have a good stamp set I liked a lot that would fit the challenge.

When I opened the email containing the picture and the word for the
October 15th challenge, I was beyond thrilled!

I instantly knew what stamp set I would use for my card because the My Favorite Things Stamp Set Playful Pups has one of their puppies cuddling his toy dog.  It even had a sentiment which included the word "cuddle!"

This is the card I created!

The card is pretty easy to see how to make.  One thing I did to up the cuteness factor was to cut the "blanket" out of patterned paper that matched the other papers I was using.  I could have colored it with Copics like I did the rest of the image, but I thought this was more fun.  I also put the die-cut image onto the pale aqua card stock with foam tape, so in person, you can see that sweet little puppy cuddling his friend.

The other thing I did was changed the sentiment that My Favorite Things had put together for their stamp set.  The original cuddle sentiment said,

"You're the Best Cuddle Buddy."

I wanted to be able to use this card sometime and I don't have a lot of Cuddle Buddies!  So, I looked at the other sentiments and liked the one that said,

"Let's Snuggle Our Worries Away."

I liked the idea of getting rid of worries for someone who was having a hard time, but all of my friends live in different cities and states.  Again, we're not really Cuddle or Snuggle Buddies, either!

There was one more sentiment that included the word, "Your."  It originally said,

"Sending Wags Your Way."

So I stamped and embossed all three sentiments and then cut them up, in a fun and whimsical fashion, to make a sentiment that I could send.

"Cuddle Your Worries Away."

Now, I can send this card to a friend who owns a dog that is having a hard time and write on the inside of the card, "Grab (name of the person's dog), cuddle up with him or her, and try and forget about all your worries.

I know first hand that cuddling with your favorite four-legged friend definitely can help things look better.  It's also relaxing to watch your friend fall asleep in your arms or on the couch beside you!

Thank you so much, Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge Bloggers,
for choosing my Dreamcatcher card as your Lead
and for inviting me to be a guest designer for this challenge.
I can't begin to tell you how much it means to me!

Also, I would love to see my blog followers create cards for this Cuddle challenge!  You can enter them up until October 25th at

Oh you had me practically beaming with your first paragraph! Wow, that is so cool! The inspiration photo was so cute and I wondered what you had planned. Well, the card turned out so cute and so well thought out. You were right about paper piecing his little bed, it does just go with a planned decorating theme. Such a cute stamp set too. I gotta go check to see if it is still current! Again, your coloring is wonderful. I had to smile at your choice of colors - blue, well, this card would chase the blues away for anyone. It definitely has the Ahhhh, cute factor. Love it! I will have to E-mail you Teddy's story at the Animal Blessing yesterday. Well done my friend!

Love your cuddle card and your very creative sentiment! The colors look great together - the yellow frame spotlights your focal point perfectly - and the paper pieced blanket is just right. Very nice coloring and shadows, too!
