Hello, Friends!
Welcome to card #14 in a row!
Thank you so much for your kind comments on my cards!
It's always nice to hear that someone else likes what you have made!
I had a friend who was a famous musician.
He was interviewed once and asked,
"Do you like all of the songs you have written?"
He said, "Of course! Why would I write a song I don't like?"
Unfortunately, he was killed in an automobile accident twenty years ago this coming Tuesday. I often think of him when I look at some of my cards and that comment. I will admit, though, that sometimes I have had to make a card I wasn't completely happy with because of my back being done before I was. It's great to be able to look at all these cards and to be able to say
"I like them all. Why would I make a card I didn't like?" :)
I made today's card for the 2017 Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. For this hop, a whole bunch of people make cards, this time related to coffee, tea or hot cocoa and fall and then all link them to the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop page. I'm writing this on Friday night, the hop just started this morning and there are already 230 entries! The hop runs from Friday, September 15th through Friday, September 22nd. The hop has tons of sponsors giving away prizes that will be drawn after the hop is over. When you have a chance, be sure to check out some of the cards. (Looking at all of them would take days which is why I said "some!")
I used the stamp, Ellie Loves Lattes, by Your Next Stamp, for my card. I think Ellie is adorable! As soon as I saw this stamp, I knew I wanted to use it for the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I didn't know which fall hop that would be. 2017? 2018? 2025? Thankfully, it was sooner rather than later and I got to put it to use for this hop just a few months after I it! I thought Ellie was just dressed warm enough for Fall, although she would also look cute dressed for Christmas, too.
I stamped Ellie on Primitive White Card Stock by My Favorite Things. It has little flecks of other neutral colors in it, which I thought would look cute for the sweet, warm, fall theme I was going for on my card. This paper is not made to be colored with Copics, so there was a bit of a learning curve to use them on this paper. The ink seeped into the paper differently and seemed to be more likely to run than on paper that is more Copic Friendly. I think the coloring worked out fine, though. I fussy cut Ellie when she was colored and put her on another die cut piece of paper which I had also stamped her image on so you would see the continued strand of hair on the left side.
TIP:
If you fussy cut an image, go around the edge with a black marker when you are finished cutting. I used a Copic, now knowing how the paper would take it, so it would fill in any spots that I cut too closely. The black marker tip makes the image look much more finished and hides any mistakes if you weren't able to cut it out perfectly!
After I cut Ellie out, I adhered her back on a flat piece of paper, instead of with foam tape. This allows her to stand out just a little bit and it's definitely noticeable when you look at the card in person. She's still flat enough to mail, easily, though, perhaps with a Starbucks gift card inside!
I used a Simple Stories 6 x 6 paper pack for my patterned paper. It's appropriately titled, Pumpkin Spice. It's perfect for fall and for Ellie's backdrop. If I were Ellie, I'd be drinking a Pumpkin Spice Latte, so I thought this paper was perfect in more ways than one!
I hope you like Miss Ellie and will check out the other wonderful cards on the
Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!
Happy Stamping, Friends!

OH this is so sweet!
I think Miss Ellie is a cutie pie! Love your sweet card.
So sweet and adorable!
Very sweet card!
So cute! Love the colors you chose. Boy, I am learning from you about the Copics and papers and such! Wow, you did an impressive coloring job. My hair was redder as a kiddo but still a dark auburn with gold in it. So, this made me smile esp with her little headband. I like it a latte!

Love your color and pattern combinations for this card - and your coloring looks great, too! Perfect for the autumn theme and your coffee lovers hop.
Also I just noticed your "about me" updates on the top left of your blog. Such a nice photo with you and Frankfurter! You've certainly given back a lot of joy through your cards and your writing!
