Awesomely Artistic for VC Rocks

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to the final VC Rocks blog hop of the summer.  You can see the other people participating in this hop by going to the VC Rocks webpage here.  This blog hop is celebrating friendship.

I have been a member of VC Rocks for ten years, for sure.  It may actually be eleven years, but I am positive that it's been ten years.  I have met two members face to face.  The rest of the people I "just" know over the internet.  That sounds like it must be no big deal, right?  After all, I've only actually met two of the other members in person.  Wrong.  This couldn't be farther from the truth.

VC Rocks is a group of ladies who care about each other.  Stamping brought us together and is something we all have in common.  From that, we have gotten to know each other.  We know about each other's families- whether people children or animal children.  We know about each other's jobs.  We know about struggles we are having and successes we can celebrate.   We support each other.  Members pray for each other when a difficulty comes up.  Sure, I've only met two of these people in person, but my heart knows and cares about each and every one of them and I know that they care for me (and Frank!) as well.

I am so thankful for these ladies.  They mean so much to me and my "Friend" card is dedicated to each and every one of these priceless people I am blessed to have in my life.

I used all Stampin' Up products to make my card, because Stampin' Up is what brought us all together and what our group focuses on.  I no longer use their products exclusively, but I still like them very much.  I stamped the Hardwood background stamp on my card base in the new In Color, Tip Top Taupe.  I love this new color!  Then, I stamped the flower from Awesomely Artistic in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macron and Delightful Dijon markers.  This sounds funny but I was careful not to color in the flowers exactly.  I wanted some white space on the petals and leaves just for a different effect.  I cut out my flowers with the Banner Framelit dies and then carefully cut a smaller Watermelon background layer with my paper trimmer for the straight sides and by hand for the tips, just to give a little color behind the white banner.   I cut the Watermelon tips at a bit of a diagonal just to make it a little softer.  I stamped the Chocolate Chip frame, the Watermelon Wonder word "Friend," and then fussy cut this piece out.  There is a die that matches this frame, but I don't have it.  Finally, I glued all of my pieces down and added a bow in the matching new ribbon Tip Top Taupe Dotted Lace Trim.

Whether in person or online, I hope each of you reading this post is blessed like I am to have such special people in your life.  Stamping friends are some of the best friends you'll ever have!

Don't forget to check out the other beautiful "Friendship" cards my dear friends have created here!

Happy Stamping!

What a great almost fall looking card, love the colors! And another person who somehow can make the lace look great! I guess I need practice. Thanks for joining our last blog hop of the season.
