Hello, Friends!
It's a Christmas miracle! I've been able to make and share several different Christmas cards with you over the past two weeks. I'm determined to use these cute Christmas stamps no matter how my back is cooperating!
I created this card especially for my cousin's family. We both only have each other as a cousin and neither of us have brothers or sisters. So, I get to be "Aunt Angela" to her daughter and son. The card came together easily with the cute penguin stamp from Unity Stamp Company and patterned paper from Doodlebug. I love both companies! One of my favorite parts is the little peppermint candy for the ball on the penguin's hat. I added the green stripe on the candy cane so it matched the paper even better. It was a lot harder to color that little candy cane than I thought it would be, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
My sketch came from the blog Deconstructing Jen. When you're making a lot of cards, using sketches for the design makes it a lot faster. It's also a way to invite new people to see your cards and blog, and Frank, of course. I am also sharing my card with "Friends with Flair" on the Unity Stamp Company blog. Each Friday, you can share your cards made with Unity stamps on their blog. Then, on Monday, they announce a winner from a card that was shared as well as someone who commented on the cards that were shared. The prize? Free stamps! As all stampers know, the only thing better than stamps are free stamps! Check out their blog so you can share or leave comments here!
Happy Stamping and Merry Christmas!
I used the following products to make this card:
Sweet Christmas Wishes by Unity Stamp Company
Tuxedo Black Ink by Memento
Copic Markers
Pure Luxury White Card Stock by Gina K
Real Red Card Stock by Stampin' Up
Kraft in Color and Home for the Holidays 6x6 paper pad by Doodlebug Design Inc.
Deco Labels and Banner Framelits Dies by Stampin' Up
Candy Cane Dots by Pebbles
1/4" Real Red Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon by Stampin' Up
Wink of Stella Clear by Zig
Scotch Double Sided Permanent Foam Tape by 3M
I was very excited to see this "Candy Cane" challenge on another blog I follow because my card definitely meets the candy cane requirement! I love candy canes and anything peppermint at Christmas- ice cream, peppermint mochas, peppermint sugar cookies, etc. so this was a great idea for a challenge. You can see other candy cane cards on the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge blog by clicking here.
