SFF Kidoodles

Hello, Friends!

Happy Friday!  I hope you've enjoyed my week of cards featuring retiring sets.  I love this little rhino from "Kidoodles."  I don't have very many Get Well Soon cards in my stash so I definitely wanted to use him for our Sketch Frenzy Friday card.

I used the Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray paper to "frame" my rhino.  Then, the picture is hanging on the wall with another Daffodil Delight brad in place of the fancy frame holder.  Rhinos aren't very fancy!  :)  You can see other cards made with this sketch by going to www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com.

Don't forget, Friday, May 31st is the last day of the Spring Mini Catalog and the first day of the new Stampin' Up 2013-2014.  Don't worry if you need this rhino!  You can still get him through Monday, June 3rd.

Happy Stamping!

TSSC265 A Cherry on Top

Hello, Friends!

It's time to share another one of my favorite retiring sets.  I loved "A Cherry On Top" from the first time I saw it, but I thought it would be hard to use to line up all the different stamped elements.  So, before it was gone, I decided to give it a shot.  It wasn't hard at all!  Using the clear mount stamps, you can tell right where your image is going to be when you stamp it.  I love how this happy, cheery card turned out and hope you do too!

The sketch comes from Mary Jo's Technostamper blog.  She features a great sketch every week.  I'm excited to get to take part in them again!  I didn't want to cover up the cute cake stand so I put my sentiment on sideways instead of straight across.  My colors all came from the "Summer Smooches" Designer Series Paper featured in the background strip.  I'm going to miss this paper!

Have you seen something this week you can't live without?  Email me your order and I'll be happy to place it for you!

See you tomorrow for a card made with our Sketch Frenzy Friday design!

Happy Stamping!

CCMC253 Carry On and Elements of Style

Hello, Friends!

For today's card, I used the hostess stamp set, "Carry On."  The phrase "Keep Calm and Carry On" became famous in England during World War II.  It's made a recent comeback though and can be seen on signs, mugs, and even Stampin' Up cards.  Although "Keep Calm and Carry On" is a great phrase, for us stampers, "Keep Calm and Stamp On" is more fun!  "Carry On" and the flowers I stamped on the "First Edition" Specialty Designer Series Paper from the set "Elements of Style" are both retiring this weekend.

For me personally, stamping again has been a lot of fun.  It gives me something else to think about and be creative.  Although the Create with Connie and Mary sketch looks fabulous with bright, happy colors, I wanted to challenge myself and only used Basic Black and Very Vanilla (with a tiny bit of Crumb Cake on the wooden stamp in the center.)  It's not my usual style, but I like it for a change.

So, keep calm, stamper friends, and

Happy Stamping!

HSS160 Two By Two

Hello, Friends!

Happy Tuesday!  This week I will be featuring a new card on my blog everyday because some of my favorite stamps are retiring.  Being sick and unable to stamp for so much of this year meant that I didn't get to share them yet.  So, for one week only, I'll have a new card everday.

My "Two By Two" stamp had to make it to Life with a Wiener Dog!  I found the sketch challenge on a blog I had never seen before, www.handstampedsentiments.blogspot.com.  I love clean and simple sketches and this one was perfect for my "Two By Two" stamp.  I didn't want to use the "Congratulations" on the bottom of it, so I could use it for any occassion or just keep it as a blank note card.  The animals are so sweet and the cheery colors will hopefully bring a smile to someone special's face.  This stamp is a single stamp, instead of being part of a usual Stampin' Up set.  If you need it, let me know by this weekend!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

MDS Memorial Day Thank You

Hello, Friends!

I wasn't going to do a My Digital Studio project, but then I decided I couldn't let Memorial Day go by without doing something to thank those who have made huge sacrifices so that I have the freedom to stamp and Frank has the freedom to eat bones!

God bless each and every person in the military, their families and friends who give the gift of time with their loved ones so the rest of us are safe and free.  I pray God will keep you safe and at peace until you are all reunited, again.

To those who have given the ultimate sacrifice of their lives, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and will remember your gift forever.  Your dedication and the love of your country will not be forgotten.

Happy Memorial Day!

Mojo Monday 294 Dinoroar

Hello, Friends,

Happy Sunday night and Monday morning!

Instead of doing a My Digital Studio card, I wanted to feature a stamp set that is retiring at the end of this week.  MDS products never retire (at least not yet!) so there's plenty of time for projects with it.

My only little boy is Franfurter and he's not into dinosaurs, however I think the "Dinoroar" set is so cute, I wanted anyway.  I still have little boy cards to make and this one is now ready for a sweet boy who's birthday is in July.  The outside is based on Mojo Monday's sketch for this past week.  Isn't it great?!  I didn't have room for the three items on the right side, but I love how this card turned out.  I can't wait to give it to the birthday boy, hopefully in person!

Although I don't usually stamp sentiments inside, the great dinosaur saying, which made the card, is inside.

If you are a dinosaur lover or have little friends who are, snatch up this set before it's gone!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Dinoroar Stamp Set
Pretty In Pink, Lucky Limeade, Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Always Artichoke and Marina Mist Classic Inks
Black Stazon Ink
Whisper White, Garden Green, Bashful Blue and Marina Mist Card Stock
Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack
Blender Pens
Subtles Brads
1/4" Wild Wasabi Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon

SFF Moving Forward

Hello, Friends!

I have to start by apologizing for this picture.  It stinks!  The only thing worse than packing to move is packing to put some things in storage and take some things with you.  I remembered my camera, but I didn't remember to bring the battery charger.  So I'm trying to make do with what I have, but I'm not overly happy with it.  Please bear with me!  The printed paper does have shading to it, but the stamped image doesn't look very good, in my opinion.

Alright.  Now that that's out of my system!  Happy Friday!  It's Sketch Frenzy Friday day.  Because I was unable to stamp for most of the year, there are stamp sets that I got in July that I haven't gotten to use, no matter how much I like them, that will be retiring soon.  "Moving Forward" was one I had to share before this catalog ends.  It's the Ronald McDonald set which means Stampin' Up donates money to Ronald McDonald houses every time a set is sold.  It is super cute this year and handy for lots of different occassions.  Check out more cards created with this sketch by going to www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com.  Then make your own card and share it with us there!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Baja Breeze, Island Indigo and Rich Razzleberry Classic Inks
Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Island Indigo and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock

MDS Monday Creating Yourself Card

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to My Digital Studio Monday!  I am in love with MDS.  I know you're going to get tired of reading that over and over, so I apologize ahead of time.

I made this card in less than 15 minutes, from scratch and I had never done it before.  15 MINUTES!  It is so easy to use and figure out.  When I got stumped once, I went to www.mydigitalstudio.net, found a video on my problem, watched what I needed, and still made my card in 15 minutes!

Everything on my card came from the MDS Digital Download "Keep This Memory Photobook."  It's on sale right now for 25% off, so if you're like me and couldn't live without it, now's the time to pick it up!  I loved the quilt look of the background paper which went perfectly with the quote that was already designed and ready to use.  My Marina Mist strip of paper down the center of the card was actually another color, but with one click of a button I changed it to a color that matched my card.  I also switched it from vertical to horizontal with another click.  I originally added Pumpkin Pie brads, but thought the Cherry Cobbler would look better.  I just recolored them and my card was complete.

If you're like me and My Digital Studio has been on your computer for years (!) but you've never really used it, take some time and start playing.  It's so much fun!

Happy Creating!

VC Rocks Stampin' Up Words

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to our second (my first) VC Rocks Blog Hop of this summer.  This hop is featuring Booking Incentives and Hostess Gifts.  You can see more amazing projects by our VC Rocks ladies by going here for the links to the other sites.

I decided to make something out of the box for my project.  Using a variety of fonts, I made this Stampin' Up card on My Digital Studio to use as a "thank you" to send after a hostess' party.  I actually liked the white background, but with the white background of my blog, it all blended together.  I switched it to a light blue instead so it was easier to see the actual shape of the card.

All of the fonts were already on My Digital Studio.  It was easy to change the colors to Stampin' Up ink colors with one click of the mouse.  The scissors and arrows embellishments came with the My Digital Studio "Keep This Memory Photobook" Download.  I love it and will be featuring another card made with it on Monday.  Although the colors of the embellishments didn't match my design originally, I could recolor them with a click of the mouse as well.  (www.lifewithawienerdog.com won't be on the actual project, although it is one of my favorite stamping things.)

This page can also be printed and framed in an 8 1/2" x 11" size for those who love the products and joys of Stampin' Up.

Now, doesn't this make you want to break out your supplies or host a Stampin' Up party?  I hope so!

Don't forget to check out our other VC Rocks Blog Hop projects by going here!

Happy Stamping!

SFF Up, Up and Away

Hello, Friends!

It is so great to be back on Friday with Sketch Frenzy Friday.  They were so sweet to welcome me back after a long break!  You can see all the other SFF designer's cards by going to the Sketch Frenzy Friday blog here

I made this card for my Dad's birthday which was earlier this week.  He and I both love hot air balloons.  We both think they're beautiful.  We both get excited to see them.  And, we both don't ever want to ride in one!  So, since time's are tough around my wallet, I made this card.  On the inside I wrote, "For your birthday, I did not get you a hot air balloon ride.  You are welcome!"
Does he have a great daughter, or what?!

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday for a digital card made with My Digital Studio.

Happy Stamping!

My Digital Studio Monday- Convention 2011 Card

This is my first My Digital Studio Card!  I have owned this software way too long without doing more than making a sketch or two with it.  So, I decided while I have some extra time, I'd learn how to use it.  This is a great time to do it, too, because Stampin' Up has a 25% sale on their digital download categories-
Ensembles
Photobooks & Swatchbooks
Calendars.

For my card, I used the Convention 2011 Designer Template Photobook template.  I love the Photobook and Swatchbooks and Ensembles because you get lots of goodies with them.  I didn't go to that SU Convention in 2011, but that didn't stop me from loving the digital papers, embellishments, stamps, and colors, so I got it anyway!  It's so easy to change things if you need to in MDS that I know I'll get lots of use out of it.  My flower petals, leaves, and the word "Grow" were all a part of the embellishments in this kit.  All I had to do was arrange them in a flower pattern, add my leaves and words, and my card was on the way!  I also used the Mixed Bunch digital stamp set which came in the MDS2 digital studio software.  You can get over $500 of papers, stamp sets, punches, photo books, embellishments, and page patterns for just $20.00!  It's a fabulous deal.  I changed the color of the stamp to match my flower and it created the center of my flower.  Lastly, I added a Rich Razzleberry brad from the Original MDS software for a small pop of color.

It was so simple to make the major elements for my card that I couldn't believe I had waited this long to use the My Digital Studio software!  The MDS blog anwered tons of my questions and has great videos to show how to create different projects.  It's at www.mydigitalstudio.net

From now on, Monday's on my blog will be My Digital Studio Mondays so you can see the projects I create as I learn more about this awesome software.

Can't live without it anymore?  Let me know and I'd be happy to order software or downloads for you!

Happy Creating!

CCMC251 Button Buddies for Mother's Day

Hello, Friends!

Happy Mother's Day!  This is the card I made for my Mom.  My card actually fits three different challenges.  I hadn't done any for months so I'm making up for lost time!  First, the sketch comes from Create with Connie and Mary.  Then, I also met the VC Rocks challenge for this week to use 4 items that start with the letter "B" on your card.  My 4 things are "Button Buddies" stamp set, Baja Breeze card stock, a button, and Bakers Twine.  Finally, I'm using retiring products, the "Button Buddies" stamp set, the colors Not Quite, Navy, Baja Breeze, and More Mustard, and the Regals Designer Series Paper Stack, on my card.
I hope you enjoy it and that all the Mom's out there, including mine, are having a great day.

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products on this card:

Button Buddies and Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Sets
Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy Classic Inks
Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, Baja Breeze, and Not Quite Navy Card Stock
Regals Designer Series Paper Stack
Regals Buttons
Basic Pearls

"Can you believe it?" Henry Says!

Hello, Friends!

Long time, no blog!  Wow!  Have things changed since I last posted in December.  I am no longer in Arizona!  No more dry, dusty, brown desert for me.  Frank and I are back in Central Illinois where it is green, green, GREEN!  I love seeing the grass, the trees, and the flowers blooming.

Frank and I have both been through a lot during the past few months.  Most importantly, I thought we were going to loose my sweet Frankfurter.  He completely lost the ability to stand and walk one afternoon while we were still in Arizona back in January.  It was horrible!  My Dad and I rushed him to the vet who told us this was very bad.  Since we were still in the Phoenix area, we picked up my Mom at my house and rushed Frank to a neurologist.  Dr. Levine, one of my favorite people on earth, was able to determine that Frank had a disc that was leaking disc "stuff." It was pressing on Frank's spinal cord so he was no longer able to stand or walk.  Dr. Levine did surgery on Frank, cleaned out the "stuff" and Frank's spinal cord went from being flattened to being round immediately.  Within 48 hours, Frank had been seen, diagnosed, had surgery, was walking and home!  (The longest 48 hours of my life!)  He had to rest for 2 weeks and then was able to start getting back to his old self.

Frank after surgery with his stitches.

Three and a half months later, Frank is great!  He can walk, stand, run, go up and down 3 doggie steps, (he can go up and down a whole flight, but he's not supposed to.) get excited and do a little jump, stand up and do "tall dog" and even lay on his back again and roll around- the last thing to come back.

Frank after 2 weeks, on his way to get out his stitches.

All better, relaxing on the couch!

Life has been hard not having my job in Chandler anymore and I am now looking for another ministry.  However,
Life with a Wiener Dog
is getting better for both of us.  Frank is all better and I'm excited to see what God has planned for us next!

For those of you that have faithfully checked my blog to see if I was back, I am!  This is the first card I've made since last July.  It features "Henry Says" from Stampin' Up and is announcing our blog's return.  Look for more cards, wiener dog stories, and updates about where I am and what I'm doing.
