Wedding Card Featuring Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder

Hello, Friends!

I have been missing some of my usual days to post on my blog because I haven't been feeling very well.  As it turns out, I have been overmedicated with my thyroid hormones and I feel awful!  There were some signs, but I attributed the tiredness and achy feeling with other causes.  So, if my stamping is sporatic, I'm still here.  Just dealing with exhaustion and severe muscle pain.

This card was actually for last Wednesday, but I didn't get it on my blog in time, so now it's Monday's card instead!  I took the picture from the side so you could see the embossing better.  It's for a very sweet Mr. and Mrs. that serve in the elementary ministry.

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Petite Pairs Stamp Set
Basic Black Classic Ink
Whisper White and Basic Black Card Stock
1/4" Whisper White Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon
Circle Punches
Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder
Big Shot
Basic Pearls

VC Rocks July Blog Hop Twitterpated Flowers

Hello, Friends!

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.  I am pleased to be a part of the VC Rocks July Blog Hop.  You can start the blog at our home page, www.vcrocks.blogspot.com.  If you've been following it, you probably came from my good friend, Carey Rogers' blog, www.pedstamperstampingtreehouse.blogspot.com.  Our hop today features items for Stampin' Up hostess gifts or other non-card items.

I live in Arizona and while we have a lot of flowers here, we don't have flowers like I grew up with in the midwest.  So, I decided to make my own!

Using Stampin' Up's Twitterpated Flawless Fabric, I made these popular flowers. I cut my material into 1/2" strips, which I folded in half.  (The pink one was my first.  It's a little more "rough around the edges.")

Then, I cut out circles from the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets which has adhesive on both sides.  I attached my fabric rolls to these sheets.  (This is my second.  It's better, but not quite right.)

The third time was a charm!  After adding 3/8" Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon for leaves, I attached my flowers to chop sticks and put them in my plant.  Now I have more flowers in Arizona!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make these flowers:

Twitterpated Flawless Fabric
3/8" Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon
Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
Craft Scissors

Now be sure to check out Tania Brzovic's blog at http://somethingtoscrapabout.blogspot.com to see what she has made for our hop!

SFF Reason to Smile

Hello, Friends!

Happy Friday!  I wanted to use the new Stampin' Up stamp set, "Reason to Smile" for my card today.  It is only $5 with any $50 purchase.  My card doesn't follow our Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch exactly, but it's pretty close.  I used two of this year's new "In Colors" to make a monochromatic card.  I'm not sure who I'll send it to, but hopefully it will give them a reason to smile!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Reason to Smile Stamp Set
Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Early Espresso Classic Inks
Whisper White, Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple Card Stock

LNS Embedded Embossing with Mixed Bunch

Hello, Friends!

This week, our Late Night Stampers challenge is Embedded Embossing.  It's very easy and always reminds me of a quilt!  For this card, I stamped my "Mixed Bunch" flowers and centers.  Then, I used the Circle and Blossom punches to cut them out.  I glued them to my Bashful Blue card stock and then ran the whole piece through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  This gave texture to the whole front of my card.  I added the sentiment from "Pursuit of Happiness" and some ribbon and my card was complete.  I love how it turned out and hope you do, too!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Mixed Bunch and Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Sets
Regal Rose, Melon Mambo, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Not Quite Navy and Rich Razzleberry Classic Inks
Whisper White and Bashful Blue Card Stock
1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon
Circle and Blossom Punches
Square Lattice Embossing Folder
Big Shot

SFF and LNS Challenge Lots of Layers with Fan Fair DSP

Hello, Friends!

I made today's card for a couple that I work with at church.  The husband recently had a tumor removed that showed he had stage 3 colon cancer.  His wife works with me in the children's ministry here at church as well.  They are a very special couple that everyone cares about a lot.  I needed a card that was suitable for a man and a woman for my elementary leaders to sign for them.  This is what I came up with using today's Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch.  It also has lots of layers so it fits our Late Night Stampers challenge as well.

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Petite Pairs Stamp Set
Island Indigo Classic Ink
Very Vanilla, Island Indigo, Crumb Cake, and Early Espresso Card Stock
Fan Fair Designer Series Paper
1/8" Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon

Now check out Deb Currier's blog at www.artfeltimpressions.blogspot.com to see the card she created with this sketch.  Then, make your own and share it with us at www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com.

SQSC42 and LNS Challenge Lots of Layers with Beautiful Wings Embosslits

Hello, Friends!

Happy Wednesday to you!  I hope you're having a great week!  This week's card comes from our Stampin' Queen's sketch challenge.  I wasn't able to fit my circles behind my stripes, so I put them on top instead.  It also has several layers, so it fits our Late Night Stampers challenge for this week, as well.  This card screams "summer" to me.  Even though the temperature has been 113 degrees here in sunny Arizona the past two days, I still love the bright, happy colors of summer!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products on this card:

Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise Classic Inks
Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock

Hello, My Little Gecko Friend

Hello, Friends!

One of the perks of living in the desert are the little creatures that live here with us.  That sounds like I like it, doesn't it?  Twice now, I've found what has turned out to be the common house gecko in my house.  I found this little guy in the room I use for storage.  I saw something run when I went in.  At first I thought it was a cricket, but upon further investigation, it was this little gecko.  That's a pistachio nut on the counter next to him.  So, you can see how tiny he is.  I was afraid that to put it in there with him for fear that he'd climb on it and make a run for it and I'd have to catch him again.

Believe it or not, he was actually kind of cute and it was amazing to see this little tiny creature walking around in the bowl.  He reminded me how amazing God is and that all His creation is valuable and matters, even a tiny little gecko.

Last September, his cousin, pictured above, was in my kitchen.  He was a little bit bigger.  I was able to grab him by his tail and put him in the same green bowl.  (From now on, it will be the gecko bowl.)  I was able to crop his picture so you could see him better.  At work, though, I found out they can drop their tails and if they do, the little ones don't usually survive.  That made catching the little guy in the top picture harder, but I got him and released him into my backyard.  He was a fast little runner when he decided to leave the green bowl.  I can handle finding and catching these little geckos.  But, if I find one that's six inches long in my house, which is how big they can grow to be, Frank and I are moving.  Some of God's creatures are meant to live outside.  :)

Happy Gecko Catching!

SFF Summer Afternoon

Hello, Friends!

I am finally feeling better.  I apologize for disappearing here lately.  Hopefully, I am on the mend and will have plenty of time for stamping!

Today's sketch is from our Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge.  I wanted to use my new stamp set, "Summer Afternoon" for this card.  So I turned the sketch sideways and it worked perfectly.  Unfortunately, I know several people right now who are going through some rough challenges.  I'm not sure who I will send it to, but hopefully it will brighten someone's day.

I've already made Monday's card, so come back then and check it out.  It's pretty cute, if I do say so myself.

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Summer Afternoon and Petite Pairs Stamp Sets
Calypso Coral, Cherry Cobbler, Tangerine Tango, More Mustard, Lucky Limeade, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Basic Gray Classic Inks
 Black Stazon Ink
Whisper White, Tangerine Tango and Lucky Limeade Card Stock
Floral District Designer Series Paper (love it!)

Happy Birthday, Sweet Frankfurter!

Hello, Friends!

If you read my blog post from Friday, you know I was planning to have a peaceful, relaxing weekend with time for fun with Frank and stamping.

Unfortunately, it did not turn out that way. I've been sick with a stomach/aching all over/super tired bug. So instead of showering Frank with all his favorite things on his 11th birthday, Saturday, June 30th, we spent the day in bed. This was not all bad for Frank because he loves "go back to bed with your wiener dog day," but it wasn't how I had planned the time to go.

On Saturday night, when I was going back to bed, Frank was already there waiting for me. He looked so sweet that even though I felt awful, I had to snap some pictures. Here is my sweet puppy (with the little old man face) on his 11th birthday.

These pictures show Frank's sweet personality.

Frank loves his family and his family loves him very, very much!

No matter how hard a day is and what I've had to deal with, this wonderful wiener dog is always anxiously awaiting my return home.

Happy 11th Birthday, Frankfurter!
Of all the little wiener dogs in the whole world, God gave me the very best one.
I love you!
