SFF Sorry

Hello, Friends!

I'm still here.  Unfortunately, my card is not.  It's been a busy week and stamping hasn't been at the top of my list.  I tried making a card now (late Thursday night) but it is so bad because I am so tired, I didn't want to post it.

I know what you sweet people are thinking.  "I bet it's not that bad."  Well, take that bet back, because it is!  It's almost so bad it's funny.

Tomorrow, a sweet little guest will be staying at my house.  If I can bear to put him down, I will give this sketch another shot.  I could actually probably hold a baby, hold Frank, and make a better card than I did tonight!  :)
On the bright side, my house is dusted, mopped, and vacuumed.   (Thanks, huge dust storm in Arizona that made my house a sand box, again!)  The dishwasher is empty, the counters are clean, and after one more load of laundry is done tomorrow, my cleaning chores will be complete for the whole weekend.  That should leave some serious stamp time in my future.

Please check out Deb Currier's blog, www.artfeltimpressions.blogspot.com to see the card she actually created with the sketch she designed.  I'm sure it will be fantastic, as usual!  Then, make your own card and show us at www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com.  I will be back soon with more cards to share and a very special post for my wonderful wiener dog who will be 11 on Saturday!

Happy Stamping!

SFF and VC Rocks Challenge with Storybook Friends

Hello, Friends!

Happy Friday to you!  It's been a long week here in sunny Arizona.  You know it's summer in Arizona when the weather forecaster says one day is going to be cooler- only 103 for the high temperature that day!

I created this week's Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch.  If you've been following my blog for very long, you know I like simple and sweet.  I spruced it up a little bit for the actual card I created though.

Our VC Rocks challenge this week is to use something from nature to show what we love about summer.  This little dog reminds me so much of Frankfurter when he was a puppy, even though it's not a wiener dog.  When we lived in Illinois and spring and summer were finally here, Frank would run just like this when he saw we were at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  He would run halfway up the driveway and then stop and look at me to make sure he was going the right direction.  I'd say, "You're right, Frankfurter.  That's Grandma and Grandpa's house."  Then, he'd gallop the rest of the way and wait for them to answer the door or for me to open it.  He may be turning 11 next week, but he still runs like this when Grandma and Grandpa come to visit.

I know it's not popsicles or butterflies, but this little guy reminds me of summer.  I purposely put the puppy outside of the white circle so it would look like he was running right through it into the pretty flowers.

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Storybook Friends Stamp Set
Basic Black Classic Ink
Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze and Lucky Limeade Card Stock
Floral District Designer Series Paper
Circle and 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punches
Stampin' Dimensionals

Now check out Deb Currier's blog at www.artfeltimpressions.blogspot.com to see the card she created.  Then, make your own and share it with us at www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com.

SQSC44 Pretty Postage

Hello, Friends!

We're half way through another busy week!  I wanted to share a card I created for this week's Stampin' Queen's sketch.  I've been eating a lot of fresh berries here lately- blueberries, strawberries and blackberries.  So when I was looking for a stamp set to use with this sketch, this stamp seemed perfect for summer.  It's from the "Pretty Postage" stamp set with a matching "Postage Stamp Punch."  How fun!
Happy Stamping!

LNS Challenge 178 Add an Insect with "Every Little Bit"

Hello, Friends!

Good morning!  Our Late Night Stampers challenge this week is to use insects on our projects.  As it turns out, I don't have a lot of insect stamps, but I did have the bee from "Every Little Bit."  When I was trying to think of something to make with it, "Happy B-Day" crossed my mind.  So, I used the stamp set, "Friendly Phrases " for the words and the bumble bee for my letter "B."  I cut the papers with the words on them myself.  I've seen a lot of cards that are made like this but had never done one of my own.  I think it turned out cute.

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

VC Rocks Hop #2 "Any Size Card" with Animal Talk

Hello, Friends!
Welcome to our 2nd VC Rocks Blog Hop of 2012!
I am so honored to get to stamp and share cards with such talented ladies on this blog hop! There is a card featured on our homepage, www.vcrocks.blogspot.com
This hop will feature cards created in many different sizes and shapes. I was boring because I made cards that are the standard 5 1/2 inches x 4 1/4 inches. However, I wanted to show what could be made with one stamp set, "Animal Talk" and one set of Designer Series Paper, "Floral District."

My first card was actually created with our Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch. This card gave me the idea to make a set of cards using the same stamp set and paper. "Animal Talk" is fun and the bright, cheery colors of "Floral District" paper seemed like a match made in Heaven.

In two of the cards, I used both stamps that had both the animal language and the translation. In the cat card, I just stamped the animal talk and part of the translation on the inside of the card.

I left the inside of the bird card blank so I could write whatever I wanted inside. It may end up being a birthday card that I write "Happy Bird-day!" inside. It's softer colors are a bit of a change from the other cards, but it is still colorful.

There are always so many fun new products when a new Stampin' Up catalog is released. These cards showcase two of those great products! They also show that you don't have to have everything at once to make awesome new cards. (Dave Ramsey would be proud!)

Happy Stamping!

I used the following products to make all four of these Stampin' Up cards:

Animal Talk Stamp Set
Rose Red, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade, Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers
Whisper White, Rose Red, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade, Baja Breeze, and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock
Brights Brads
Brights Buttons
3/8" Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon
1/2" Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon
1/2" Tangerine Tango Scallop Dots Ribbon
Circle Punches
 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch

SQSC43 Serene Silhouettes

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

You may remember that Mother's Day and my Dad's birthday were right together.  To not play favorites, both of their cards were late.  (yeah, that's the reason they were both late.)  So in an effort to not do that again, I used our Stampin' Queens Sketch for my Father's Day card.  That's better because if I make the card early, it will get there on time.  Except that if it's for this sketch before Father's Day, my Dad will see it on his computer before it gets to my parent's house.  Well, at least it won't be late.

My Mom's birthday is in October.  I think I'll just go ahead and make her card now, too.  Then, they'll both be early which will equal on time when all four cards are added together.  It's Tuesday night.  I need to go to bed.  That logic actually makes sense to me.  :)

Happy Stamping and Happy Father's Day to a great Dad!
We love you!

Angela and Frank

LNS Challenge Anything But a Card Kleenex Holder

Hello, Friends!

It's Monday and it's going to be a great week- I can tell already!  When you see God protecting you, even if it's not what you originally wanted, you've got to give Him praise and start the week off joyfully.  That's exactly what I'm doing!  God is good all the time.

Now, off to my little kleenex box.  Our challenge for Late Night Stampers this week is to create anything but a card.  I admit, this struck fear in my heart, because I pretty much create cards and that's about it.  Not this week, though!  So I found a cute pattern for the individual kleenex packs you can keep in your purse here.  Didn't it turn out cute?!  I'm either going to take it to work or leave it on my stamping desk.  I haven't decided yet.  I love the new stamp set, just released in our new catalog.  "Decorate a Daisy" is one you're going to see a lot!

Break out of your comfort zone and create something special this week.

Happy Stamping!

Decorate a Daisy Stamp Set
Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight Classic Inks
Whisper White, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock

Extraordinary Pudding Night

Last night, some of you made some cards.
Last night, some of you watched tv.
Last night, some of you went out to dinner.
Last night, some of us flicked pudding at children and adults like there was no tomorrow.

Wait. What?

That's right.  It's VBS (Vacation Bible School) at Chandler Christian Church.  We've been learning about how God can take something ordinary and make it extraordinary because He is an extraordinary God!

So why am I covered in pudding?

A few years ago, my good friend Chris Hedrick introduced "pudding night."
We fill a kids blue plastic swimming pool with pudding (vanilla, chocolate, and tapioca for some texture) and then let the kids and leaders flick pudding at each other with spoons.

Wait.  What?

That's right.  Flick Pudding.
Last year was my first time to partake in the pudding flicking fun.
I was dreading it to be honest but I soon found out that it is a lot of fun to flick pudding at people.

Wait.  What?

That's right.  My fifth and sixth graders and the awesome leaders I have flicked pudding at each other and had a blast.  This is how I looked at the end of the night.  I've showered and washed my hair, but I still am "pudding scented."  If it turns out to be a good moisturizer, I'll let you know.

What I do know is that those kids look forward to being a 5th grader at VBS just so they can join the pudding war.  I also know that after a certain amount of time, pudding becomes a solid.  Pudding becomes a very disgusting, but fun, solid.

I also know that I'm blessed to get to be with 100 5th and 6th graders as their pastor, teacher, friend, and fellow pudding flicker.  My leaders are the best and I'm blessed to serve with them, be their friend, and also, a fellow pudding flicker.

Thanks to my friend, Michelle, who took our picture.  She is way too clean, don't you think?

  Happy Stamping, to you Stampers.
Happy TV Watching, to you TV Watchers.
Happy Going out to Dinner, to those of you who went out to dinner.
But most of all, HAPPY PUDDING FLICKING to the best Pudding Flickers in the World!
Pastor Angela loves you with all of her heart.  :)

PS  What did Frank think when I came home still covered in pudding?  First, he came to greet me like normal.  Then, he stepped back and looked at me like, "WHAT happened to YOU?"  Then, he barked at me.  It's bad, but funny, when your own dog barks at you!

Happy Friday and Happy New Stampin' Up Catalog Day!
Our new Stampin' Up Catalog for 2012-2013 is up and ready for purchases.  It is beautiful and I look forward to using some of the new products.  I'll be updating my blog with new links to the new catalog this weekend.  I used the set, "You Are Loved" in the new catalog for my card today.  I love the new In Color "Raspberry Ripple."  The new design for the ink pads is magnificent, as well.  I stamped a perfect image with the fantastic coverage of the new juicy pads.  Well done, Stampin' Up!
