LNS Remake Challenge with Vintage Vogue

Hello, Friends!

This week's LNS Challenge is to remake the small Hallmark card pictured above.  I used a retiring stamp set, Vintage Vogue, and retiring designer series paper, Mocha Morning Specialty, to make my card.  I stamped the whole "friends" stamp in Basic Black ink and cut it out in a circle with our Circle Scissors Plus.  Then, I stamped the "F"in Early Espresso ink and cut it out.  I attached it with Stampin' Dimensionals so it sticks up from the rest of the card.

I made this card for our High School Pastor at church who is leaving to be the Senior Pastor at a church in Oklahoma.  Those Okies are lucky to get him!  He's a great, Godly man who ministered to me when I found out there was a lump on my thyroid and they couldn't tell if it was cancerous or not.  I will never forget his kind words and support.  I will miss you, Paul, and can't wait to see what God has in store for you!

This week, take some time to make a card for someone special to you!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Vintage Vogue Stamp Set
Early Espresso and Basic Black Classic Ink
Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Basic Black Card Stock
Mocha Morning Specialty Designer Series Paper
Circle Scissors Plus
3/8" Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon
Stampin' Dimensionals

SFF Thoughts and Prayers

Hello, Friends!

Today's card is inspired by our Sketch Frenzy Friday sketch.  I used another retiring product that I'm going to miss!  The patterned paper, Paisley Petals, will be retiring on May 31st.  I think this pattern is very pretty.  While I don't like making sympathy cards, it's always good to have a couple on hand.  I think the soft colors make this card peaceful looking.  This is a great sketch and we'd love to have you join us this week!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set
Always Artichoke Classic Ink
Whisper White, Baja Breeze, River Rock, and Always Artichoke Card Stock
Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper
Metallic Brads
Large Oval and Scallop Oval Punches
Stampin' Dimensionals

SU Stars Spring Has Sprung Blog Hop! Butterfly Prints

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to the SU Stars blog hop!  If you are just jumping in, you might want to go to the beginning of the hop which you can find at http://www.su-stars.blogspot.com/.  If you've been following the hop, you probably came from Dawn Hoffman's blog, "Stampin' at Dawn."  Isn't that a great name for her blog?

All of our projects today will be featuring the theme "Spring has Sprung!"  Nothing says spring to me like butterflies, so I used the set "Butterfly Prints" which will retire on May 31st.  I put each of the three butterflies on the card using a Stampin' Dimensional right in the middle of the butterly.  This way, their wings stick up from the actual card.  You can see the shadows the butterflies make in the picture because they aren't flat against the card stock underneath them.  The blue cardstock and Designer Series Paper also show those beautiful blue spring skies.

I hope you enjoy my card and the other Spring projects along our SU Stars Hop!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Butterfly Prints Stamp Set
Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Classic Ink
Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist and Night of Navy Card Stock
Subtles Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack
Butterfly Punch
Stampin' Dimensionals

SQSC35 and LNS Challenge 169 Upsy Daisy

Hello, Friends!

Happy Wednesday to all of you!  I was able to carve out some stamping time and got to make a couple of cards.  I'm excited to share them with you!

This past Sunday, Stampin' Up posted it's list of retiring stamps that will only be available through May.  I'll be featuring some of my favorite sets that are being retired over the next few weeks.  If you see one you can't live without, I'd love to order it for you!  Just email me with your list.

Today's design comes from Stampin' Queens.  I haven't been able to play the last few Wednesdays, so I was thrilled to have a card to share this week!  My colors for this card (and the one I'll share on Friday) comes from the Late Night Stampers Color Challenge this week- to use any pinks, yellows, and greens on your stamping project.  That was perfect for a soft spring card featuring the retiring stamp set "Upsy Daisy."  I love how it turned out.  It will be perfect for a special friend.  Being on both design teams, we'd love to have you join us with either or both challenges!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Upsy Daisy and Friendly Phrases Stamp Sets
Wild Wasabi Classic Ink
Pink Pirouette, So Saffron and Wild Wasabi Stampin' Write Markers
Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron and Wild Wasabi Card Stock

SFF Aviary

Hello, Friends!

It's been awhile since I've been able to post.  There's a lot going on at church where I'm the elementary pastor.  April is busy month for us, obviously, with Easter and some other fun events we have planned.  I have family visiting and I'm trying to get ready for a garage sale this weekend.  All in all, today (Thursday) has been one of those days off where I'll be glad to go to work tomorrow so I can get some rest!  I might be busy, but at least I'll get to sit at my desk!

Luckily, I had made this card in advance, especially since it's my sketch featured on today's Sketch Frenzy Friday challenge.  It should be an easy one that can have lots of different interpretations.  I'm excited to see your take on it.

Now it's off to bed for me so I can get up tomorrow and do all of this again!

Happy Stamping!

I used the following Stampin' Up products to make this card:

Aviary Stamp Set
Basic Gray and Marina Mist Classic Inks
Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Marina Mist and Basic Gray Card Stock
Nursery Nest Designer Series Paper
1/8" Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon
Stampin' Dimensionals

Now check out Deb Currier's blog at http://www.artfeltimpressions.blogspot.com/ to see the card she created with this sketch.  Then, please join us and show us your creation at http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/

Life with a Wiener Dog Winners!

Good Morning!

I wanted to share some honors with you that my recent cards have won.

This first is from Create with Connie and Mary.  I have wanted to win one of their Top Three Blog Picks since I started my blog!  This week, my Everybunny Easter Card was chosen for that special honor!  Here is the card I created for their sketch challenge.

I also won a challenge on Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  I have won this honor before, but it is just as special this time as it was the first.  It was another Everybunny card!  I think it's because those bunnies are just so cute!

Finally, my "Hello, Doily" card won a top pick on Stamping 411.  I like how happy this card looks, even if it's for a late birthday!  This was another honor to be chosen from so many wonderful submissions.

Now, break out your stamps, find a great challenge, and hop to it.  (That was from the bunnies!)

Happy Stamping!
